Solbika
Solbika is an integrated project composed by Shelter and Bike, designed to promote sustainable electric mobility provided by solar panels, a renewable energy source.
The design idea was born from a futuristic vision of 100 metropolitan cities in the world, where the use of petrol and diesel powered cars will decrease over time.
The start-up scenario of the project are the common condominium areas, residential homes and private home gardens; practically all those places that are passageways for private homes.
Solbike is composed of a load-bearing canopy made of recycled plastic plus wood flour by extrusion which provides strips of various combinable modular sizes.
The roof is composed of a flexible solar panel covered with polymeric material with a radius of curvature of more than 1600mm, supported by a recyclable aluminum frame that grants enough space for the electrical connection box.
The fully recyclable polyurethane panels are applied on the structure and allow to obtain the recharging compartments of the electric batteries located on the internal facade, while on the external facade they provide visual communication of the logo through digital printing and the battery recharge level immediately highlighted with the red and green colors, used to increase the objective perception of its functioning and the icons as a contemporary language.
The flooring is made of modular mats obtained by recycled rubber.
The bicycle rack derives from the coupling of various recycled plastic extruded profiles, they are modular and optional depending on the need to park bikes, otherwise easily removable for parking vehicles.
